Master in Architecture with Honorable Mention from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. He took courses on "Climate Analysis and Sustainability" in The University of Arizona, USA and "High Bioclimatic Technology and Sustainable Design", Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, Faculty of Architecture.

Mario López is an Architect from the Mexican School of Architecture and Design at La Salle University, Mexico City. Founder and CEO of the company LIV Arquitectura since 2006, which currently bears his name. His professional practice includes national and international architectural projects carried out over sixteen years, including Casa Nómada, in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, the Nissan Pavilion for the International Automobile Show in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Casa Herrerías – Punta Farallón in Chimalistac, Coyoacán, Mexico City, and the Grand Living residential building in Zibatá, Querétaro, among others.

Founding member of “Caminamos Juntos”, an NGO dedicated to helping Mexicans deported from the United States to settle in San Miguel de Allende (http://www.cjsma.org/). He was a member of the board of directors of "Casita Linda" from 2017 to 2023, an NGO dedicated to helping families in the San Miguel de Allende marginal area, to build their houses, providing them with a decent and safe environment, offering workshops on education, skills development in family communication, water conservation, among others. (https://casitalinda.org/). He is currently a member of the Advisory Council of the Latin American Relief Fund, an NGO in charge of helping migrants in transit through the national territory. He held the position as Head of the Architecture Degree at the Mexican Faculty of Architecture, Design and Communication of La Salle University, México City, from 2012 to 2016. He has worked in research international conferences on global cities in Mexico City, Melbourne, Bogotá, Alicante and Arizona, among others, with prestigious universities such as: the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University and Deakin University in Australia, the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Colombia, the SLU University of Sweden, the University of Alicante in Spain and the University of Arizona in the USA. He has given lectures in Australia, Spain, Colombia, USA and México.

He was granted the Honorable Mention in the category of Residential over 300m2 at the First San Miguel de Allende Biennale of Architecture with the Casa Nómada project in 2024, as well as being a finalist in the Firenze Entremuros awards by Grupo Reforma 2021 and Noldi Schreck 2020 for the same project; he has received recognition from La Salle University in the "Roma-Condesa Cycle Routes Project" and for his teaching work. He was a professor in the Laboratory of Analysis and Description of Models and Thesis Advisor at Universidad La Salle México. He was awarded recognition in the academic exercise by the Luis Barragán Workshop Pavilion, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. He practices photography, illustration, printmaking and watercolor as part of his architectural craft.
